Kenya RAPID(Resilient Arid Lands Partnership for Integrated Development) is a five-year development program bringing together public and private organisations and communities, to increase access to water and sanitation for people and water for livestock, and to rebuild a healthy rangeland-management ecosystem. Alice Githu of Kenya's Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports describes how the private sector fits into the country's Kenya Youth Empowerment project (KYEP). The private sector's main role is to help develop and review the KYEP curriculum so the program meets labor market needs, as well as administer some of the actual training through internships. Because they help shape job skills training, private employers are more likely to provide employment and placement opportunities for program graduates.
The video shows the challenges medical students face when training with a human patient and the advantages of using Mannequins for medical training. Since the medical field is constantly changing the University of Nairobi College of health Sciences with funding from National Institutes of Health established a established a Multidisciplinary Skills Laboratory to improve medical education by allowing students the opportunity to have handson clinical experiences by use of expert patients and a simulated environment to optimize skills training experience as shown in the video. Kenya's president and opposition leader pledged to heal divisions in a surprise announcement on Friday. Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta called opposition leader Raila Odinga "his brother" on Friday and promised "we will begin a process of bringing our people together" after last year's contentious elections.
